Account & data deletion

You’re in control of your HabitMuse account, local habits, and Google Drive backup. Each is managed separately.

Request deletion without the app

Email jeweltrons@gmail.com with the subject HabitMuse account deletion request. Send from the Google email address used with HabitMuse, and state that you want your HabitMuse account and associated account data deleted.

We may ask you to confirm account ownership before acting. Do not include your password, sign-in codes, or private habit records. This request does not delete your Google account.

This button opens your email app; send the email to submit the request. You can also copy the address above and use webmail.

Delete from inside HabitMuse

  1. Open Profile in HabitMuse.
  2. Choose Delete account.
  3. Read the warning, enter the confirmation word shown, and confirm. You may need to sign in again to verify your identity.

Account deletion is permanent. Signing out or uninstalling alone does not delete the online account.

What is removed?

Deletion removes your Firebase Authentication account and associated account and vote records. Your authored community feedback is anonymized and its text is removed. Reports you submitted are removed.

Reports submitted by others and moderation restrictions may be retained while needed to investigate abuse or prevent repeated misuse. They are not erased by the in-app account-deletion flow.

What remains under your control?

Habits on this device

Deleting the account does not remove local habits, progress, reflections, or preferences. To erase local Android data, open the phone’s Settings → Apps → HabitMuse → Storage, then clear app data/storage. Labels vary by device. This is irreversible unless you have a usable backup. Files you exported or shared must be removed separately.

Your Google Drive backup

On Google Drive on the web, open Settings → Manage apps → HabitMuse → Options → Delete hidden app data. This deletes HabitMuse’s stored backup, not your other Drive files. Disconnecting an app is not the same as deleting its hidden data.

Optional diagnostics and analytics

These use installation identifiers rather than your Firebase account ID, so deleting your account does not automatically identify and erase previously sent telemetry. Turn off collection in the app and contact us with any data request; we may need additional information to locate relevant records. See the retention section.
